If you have seen the documentary Gasland then you are aware of what a devastating environment action fracking can be. If you haven't seen it, do yourself a favor and see it immediately. It covers the dangers of the natural gas energy boom that our country is in the midst of. This movie, The Sky Is Pink, is a follow-up to Gasland. Some have gone as far as to call it the best 18 minute movie ever made, im not sure if thats the case, but director Josh Fox continues to open the public eye to the devastation that accompanies fracking.

Safe Fracking Doesnt Exist (And Why Not To Believe Anyone Who Says Otherwise)

"Deserves To Die" Ad Campaign Making Waves
This is a new "provocative" ad campaign thats been popping up in cities around the country. It displays various types of people with words saying they "deserve to die". It didn't take long for people to figure out it's an anti-tobacco campaign and it took even less time for many to throw up their arms in offended exasperation. I find it somewhat funny (ironic?) that anyone would perceive these harmless posters as being more offensive then the tobacco industry. Either way, the campaign has people talking which has to mean it is at least moderately successful. Personally I see it as a pretty clever "anti-whatever" ad because it takes an ironic look at the situation.
Plus, i really don't like hipsters so anything that mildly upsets them is ok by me.
New Nike Viral Ad Is Crazy
I had to watch this 3 times before i really fully appreciated it. Nike, seemingly always 10 steps ahead in the marketing world, impresses again with this viral video. What you are watching is a Canadian track-athlete named Justin Darlington ("Jus Fly") throwing down the winning dunk in the Nike+ Dunk Contest in LA. Cartwheel to picking up the ball to putting it through his legs and then dunking it. But thats not what impresses the most. The short clip is a perfect example of combining the idea of a viral video with advertisement. The edit does just enough Nike promotions to make it apparent that they are pushing the new Nike Hyperdunk+'s but without being a "in your face" ad.
Its also simply an amazing capture of athletic achievement; as a friend said, "Its videos like this that make me question why i play sports at all."
